The BTES Symposium 2006, August 2006:

The first official gathering of the Building Technology Educators' Society took place at the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. We were honored to have Ed Allen, author of "Fundamentals of Building Construction" as one of the Keynote Speakers.

The Keynote Address given by Topaz Medallion winner Ed Allen at the BTES Symposium in Maryland in 2006 has been printed and is available to download here.

In addition to the Plenary Sessions, separate parallel presentations were given by many attendees along either a "construction" or "structures" theme.

A "teaching gift exchange" was formalized, with attendees bringing teaching projects, outlines and software to exchange with their fellow participants.

This gathering was key in the decision to formalize BTES as an Incorporated entity.

These recordings have not been edited or corrected for volume, ambient noise or extraneous recordings.
We hope to have them edited and parsed for individual participants in time.
If someone would like to volunteer to take on this task, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Note that these are large files, so high speed access is a must! They have been compressed as much as possible without sacrificing quality.
Please see the Symposium Program or Proceedings for titles of individual papers.
